Hi, I’m Katie.
Welcome to my blog! I am a homeschooling mother to 5 children ages 8-18, including twins with special needs due to birth trauma. This 2018-2019 school year will mark my 11th year homeschooling. I have also been a pediatric speech-language pathologist for 23 years, and am a certified life and fitness coach.
I didn’t start out with the intention to homeschool; I fell into the idea when my third child was starting preschool.Our homeschool curriculum is eclectic, Waldorf inspired, and since I am a lover of language and books, we do a lot of literature based themed units.
My Sweet Homeschool is an online homeschool community whose goal is to encourage and inspire new and seasoned homeschoolers to have their best homeschool year ever, and a place for me to share helpful hints that I have learned along the way.
I am a member of the Waldorf Homeschool Forum, American Speech and Hearing Association, National Association of Holistic Aromatherapy, Yoga Alliance, Martha Stewart’s Dreamers into Doers, and the Natural Teachers Network.
